Savor
The Les Petits Morlet 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon pairs exquisitely with a range of dishes, enhancing each with its robust flavors and full-bodied character:
Grilled Steaks (Ribeye or Filet Mignon): The wine’s full body and high tannins stand up beautifully to the rich, juicy flavors of grilled steaks, while its dark fruit notes complement the savory char of the meat.
Grilled Portobello Mushrooms: For a vegetarian option, pair with grilled portobello mushrooms topped with blue cheese. The wine’s earthy undertones harmonize with the umami-rich mushrooms, while its tannins balance the cheese’s creaminess.
Beef Short Ribs: Serve alongside slow-cooked beef short ribs. The wine’s structure complements the tender, flavorful meat, while its fruit notes add depth to the dish.
Aged Cheddar: Indulge in a sharp, aged cheddar. The wine’s fruit-forward profile and high tannins cut through the cheese’s richness, creating a balanced pairing.
Herb-Crusted Lamb Chops: Explore the classic pairing of Cabernet and lamb. The wine’s full body and dark fruit flavors enhance the herb crust and complement the lamb’s gamey notes.
Dark Chocolate Truffles: Conclude your meal with rich, dark chocolate truffles. The wine’s hints of oak pair wonderfully with the deep cocoa flavors, while its fruit notes add a pleasant contrast.
Grilled Eggplant: Try with herb-grilled eggplant slices. The wine’s tannins and fruit flavors complement the vegetable’s smoky char and meaty texture.
By exploring these pairings, you’ll unlock the full potential of the Les Petits Morlet 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, creating memorable dining experiences that celebrate the wine’s bold character and the rich culinary traditions of Napa Valley and beyond.

Conclusion:
My journey with the Les Petits Morlet 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon began with a dinner at Marche Bacchus a few months ago. Rhonda and jeff Wyatt, the owners always make it a point to say hello whenever Linda and I dine there. I was talking to them about 100-point wines, and they said this one usually gets rated at around 93 – 95 but is amazing, so I bought a bottle to take home. At the restaurant they have a wonderful wine shop in which you can buy wines relatively cheap (But higher than Total Wines prices) and for only $10 corkage you can open in the restaurant. Most restaurants double their prices so it’s a fair deal and they have amazing wines to choose from.
Fast forward to this week, we decided to grill some Filet Mignon we got at Costco. If you haven’t done so, try them out, they are a decent size and taste amazing. We started with a glass of Pinot Noir while we were cooking but I wanted to have a nice cabernet sauvignon with dinner. I spotted the bottle in my wine refrigerator. And decided to open and do a review on it as well. We grilled two nice filet mignon steaks and sautéed mushrooms with roasted brussels sprouts. I was not disappointed.
